Two Step - Jazz, Funk, RnB & Indie

An aspiring five-piece band from the UK; Two Step have been gigging for over a year, but recently have begun to focus on writing original material.  Drawing from a wide range of influences, the band has quickly developed a well-matured sound; with elements of jazz, funk and RnB all present in their music, behind an unmistakeable indie chime.

The band members met while studying at Queen Elizabeths Grammar School Alford, and are currently sitting their A levels.

Influences include Alt-J / Arctic Monkeys / Biffy Clyro / Bloc Party / Dear Hunter / Everything Everything / Foals / Hoosiers / John Frusciante / Karnivool / Muse / Raconteurs / Radiohead / Red Hot Chili Peppers / The Specials / The Strokes

Beach Hut Lantern Workshop

In this workshop participants can decorate their own tissue paper lantern that celebrates the iconic British seaside landmark the Beach Hut!  The lanterns can be decorated in a variety of bright colours just as the real life huts so colourfully are.  The handheld lanterns are lightweight making them great for little hands.  This workshop is great for children and even for the odd adult too!

No Relevance - Rock and Indie Cover Band

Returning to Bathing Beauties for a second year running, No Relevance are back to rock the beachfront with their eclectic mix of rock and indie covers.

Finalists at the 2012 Lincs FM Battle of the Bands Competition, No Relevance's setlist consists of popular tunes from the past five decades, so their shows always have something for everyone.  Be sure not to miss it!

Party Workshop - Circus Skills

The Party Workshop team will be providing a host of circus challenges such as juggling, diablos and spinning plates with more traditional toys such as space hoppers and hoola hoops for the whole family.  For the more adventurous we have uni cycles and giant walking globes.  Fun for the whole family, all welcome and completely free.

The Culture Cart - Mobile Craft Workshop

A hand-crafted, cart, drawn by an English gentleman on a vintage bicycle will travel around Sutton on Sea hosting a range of lino printing workshops, inspired by Sutton on Sea's historical and cultural heritage.

The Culture Cart is both a catalyst for learning high quality craft and a hub for creative collaboration.  The Culture Cart aims to develop social links between residents and the general public through learning craft.

Throughout Bathing Beauties festival the public will learn traditional lino printing techniques, as well as the creative process of creating high quality pieces of artwork.  Come along, learn a new skill and have fun making prints with The Culture Cart!

The Dave Simpson Trio - Blues, Rock & Jimi Hendrix Tribute Band

The Dave Simpson Trio is a Blues / Rock band that also doubles up as a Jimi Hendrix Tribute Band and has gone from strength to strength in the past year with the new drummer John Joe Gaskin who was the missing link.

Dave's Hendrixian guitar style is totally different to most guitarists approach.  There is no barrier between Dave and his guitar and it is just another voice that he calls upon to deliver what he wants to say. 

Johnny Simpsons cool grove sit right on the beat and John Joe is a versatile drummer and loves challenges and plays off Dave's guitar work flawlessly just like Mitch Mitchell did with Jimi hendrix.

There is almost a unspoken language between the band during shows and this leads to every Trio show being completely different as the band flow seamlessly though songs from artists like Jimi Hendrix, Rory Gallagher, Jeff Healey, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Joe Bonamassa.

Ben River Band - Modern Alternative Folk Music

Modern alternative folk songs from singer and songwriter Ben River.  Ben River was brought up in West London, Ladbroke Grove and has been on a weird and wonderful musical journey ever since.  Accompanied by acoustic guitar, bass and accordion.  "Ben River - Singer, songwriter and poet playing melodic folk pop, sounding like Rufus Wainwright meets Mumford and Sons meets Tallest Man on Earth"

Soul Summit - Sixites Soul & Motown Tribute

Great nostalgia for fans of sixties soul and motown, with a modern influence from the Commitments and Blues Brothers.

Soul Summit perform some of the most memorable sounds from Stax, Atlantic, Motown and many of the most influential soul labels of the sixties.

Sing along to hits from Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, Wilson Pickett, Ike & Tina Turner, The Drifters, Temptations and many more, including home-grown legends Chris Farlowe and the Spencer Davis group.

Mr Wippy and the Conettes - Musical Theatre

Mr Wippy and the Conettes is a piece of mobile, musical theatre based in an antique ice cream van.  The styling is reminiscent of 1940's American 'Cheesecake' art and the saucy seaside postcard art of pre-war Britain, tailored to suit family audiences.  The theme of the show is ice cream and it is 20mins long.  The characters: Mr. Wippy - the compere and crooner, Knickerbocker Glory (AKA Strawberry Sauce) the leading lady and The Conettes-the two backing singers, all sing and dance familiar Hollywood musical numbers with rewritten lyrics.  After shows the cast offer short dance workshops to members of the audience, all ages are welcome.
