Mablethorpe is leading the way in art and cultural tourism on the east coast with yet another spectacular Bathing Beauties Festival which set the beach alight with a globe of fire on the beach and fishes swimming in the sand. Manic grannies doing wheelies on the prom to rap music, body- suited life artist touring the prom asking to be drawn, delicate mine artist telling stories of unrequited love, salt sculpture and giant canvases blended against one of the bluest most vibrant coastal backdrops on what is the one of the finest beaches in England. These were just some of the fine acts and art that took place over the weekend. Families flocked to the coast to enjoy a weekend of art on the prom, from Sandilands to Mablethorpe. A record number of artists were selling their goods in the beach huts and the main stage was a showcase of talent both local and international with Bangra dancers, folk, rock, dance and popular music.Visitors came from as far as Bavaria to enjoy the longest Coastal Art Festival in Europe and Mablethorpe did not disappoint, the visual and performing arts were a spectacular blend of some of the finest art act in Britain whilst at the same time as giving opportunities for our local artist to showcase their work. The Bathing Beauties is a voluntary run festival organised and run by the Mablethorpe Tourism Forum. To give us your feedback on the festival >>>> please contact us Helen Matthews - 07894292641 |
